Esmaeil Bahiraei

Esmaeil Bahiraei began his journey with music at the age of 12, starting with the Santoor. For the past 20 years, he has also mastered the Setar. In 2019, he expanded his repertoire by learning the Hangdrum, a contemporary instrument known for its pleasant and smooth sound. Esmaeil has dedicated 15 years to his career as a music instructor.

His initial interest in the Santoor was sparked by his brother Ramin's lessons with Mr. Esteely. Fascinated by the instrument, he began practicing on his own. During his school and university years, Esmaeil formed a band with friends, performing numerous concerts at various venues.

At 17, Esmaeil formally trained under Mr. Naji Salamat for a year and continued his education with Mr. Peyman Azarmina for four years. He further honed his skills with Mr. Saman Zarabi for two years and studied under Mr. Madjid Kiani from 2005 to 2006. His dedication to daily practice culminated in his participation in the Fajr Music Festival in 2007 with fellow musicians Masoud Najafi, Alireza Daryaee, Payam Amirbahonar, and Vahid Taremi.

In 2000, Esmaeil collaborated with two theater groups, performing Santoor on stage. The performances, "Dar in Belad-e-Gharib" and "Kaftar be Tavan-e-2," highlighted his versatility.

As an instructor, Esmaeil teaches Santoor, Setar, and Handpan to students of all ages. His musical talents extend to self-learning the Setar with guidance from Ramin Bahiraei, often singing along while playing at home. He has taught over 1,000 students in Santoor and Setar, continually updating his methods and learning new instruments like the Handpan. After discovering the Handpan's unique sound, Esmaeil developed his own teaching method, helping over 100 students, many of whom were new to music.

Esmaeil has taught at various institutions, including Yaftabad Book City, Arya Academy, Navaye Del Music Academy, Avaye Fakhte Music Academy, Eghbal Music Academy, and Raz-e-Mehr Music Academy.
